These honorees are chosen based on performances from games played from Jan. 20-Jan. 25 and they are based on the same regional breakdowns as our regional Top 20 team rankings.

Players of the Week
East
Joel Wincowski (Lake George, N.Y.)
In a matchup between Lake George, last year’s Class C state champion, and Argyle, last year’s Class D state champion, Wincowski pumped in a career-high 48 points to lead Lake George to a 69-63 win in overtime.
Wincowski, who is averaging 30.5 points per game, had seven points in the overtime period. He is a 6-foot-1 junior guard who was the Class C state player of the year as a sophomore.
Southeast
Jaylin Robinson (Eufala, Ala.)
The 6-foot-1 senior guard is having another standout season after he earned second team Class 5A all-state honors as a junior. A 46-point explosion in one playoff game certainly helped Robinson gain that status.
In a game last week, Robinson had 37 points to lead Eufala past Rehobeth 84-30. He then came back to hit for 32 in a 62-61 victory against Carroll.
Those two outings also improved Robinson’s season scoring average to 31.2, which is one of the highest in the state.
Midwest
Jalen Brunson (Stevenson, Lincolnshire, Ill.)
There was a good reason why previous FAB 50 No. 29 Marian Catholic of Chicago Heights lost a game last week and had to drop out of this week’s national rankings.
Stevenson was the team to beat Marian Catholic 76-66 and Brunson had a huge night. The junior point guard faced Marian’s Tyler Ulis, a Kentucky-bound point guard and McDonald’s All-American, and led the Patriots with 32 points.
Brunson, ranked No. 38 in the 2015 Hoop Scoop Top 100, led Stevenson to last year’s Class 4A state final where the Patriots lost to Jabari Parker and Simeon of Chicago.
Southwest
Robert Thomas (Permian, Odessa, Texas)
This 6-foot junior point guard, of course, comes from a school known the world over as a mecca for football.
In the last two weeks, Thomas has come very close to racking up three straight triple-doubles. The streak began with a triple-double of 22 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds on Jan. 17 vs. Midland. Then last week in a 68-54 victory over arch-rival Odessa, Thomas had 28 points with 10 assists and nine rebounds. Already this week, he’s had 21, 10 and eight in another Panthers’ win.
For the season, Thomas is averaging 20.1 points, 6.9 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game. Last year as a sophomore, he was named his district’s offensive player of the year.
West
Tramaine Isabell (Garfield, Seattle, Wash.)
The Bulldogs, ranked No. 44 in the FAB 50, improved to 17-0 earlier this week and are considered on par with FAB 50 No. 3 Rainier Beach among some in the Seattle area.
Isabell is Garfield’s leading player and in a 103-71 triumph earlier this week over Bothell, he rained down six 3-pointers and racked up 37 points. He also ended with seven assists and at one point made seven straight shots for baskets.
For the season, Isabell, who has signed with Washington State, is averaging 22.7 points per game in KingCo conference games.
