Final, Expanded -14 FAB 50 Rankings

Cliff Alexander of Curie (Chicago), Shaqquan Aaron of Rainier Beach (Seattle) and Stanley Johnson of Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) play for teams that are a combined 50-0 with them in the lineup. Which team has the best shot to finish ranked No. 1 nationally?

Cliff Alexander of No. 26 Curie (Chicago), Shaqquan Aaron of No. 6 Rainier Beach (Seattle) and Stanley Johnson of No. 2 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) played a big role in how this year’s FAB 50 team rankings played out. Who should be the -15 preseason No. 1?

These are the official National Sports News Service National Team Rankings on StudentSportsBasketball.com, which date back to the 1952 season. Montverde Academy of Florida is the -14 mythical national champion.

Final Southeast Region Top 20 Rankings

We go 20 deep from five separate regions of the nation in our final Student Sports Regional Rankings. We rank 100 teams and nobody across the country ranks as many teams as StudentSportsBasketball.com. Final No. 1 teams are Oak Hill Academy (East), Montverde Academy (Southeast), Indianapolis Arsenal Tech (Midwest), Galena North Shore (Southwest) and Santa Ana Mater Dei (West).

Final FAB 50 National Rankings

Montverde Academy of Florida captures second consecutive Student Sports FAB 50 title by virtue of winning 27 of 28 games on the court against murderous schedule to edge Mater Dei of California. Montverde Academy, which does not compete for a state title, closed out its season by winning Dick’s Nationals tournament in New York while Mater Dei ties a state record by capturing fourth consecutive state title with program’s first unbeaten state championship club. No. 1 Montverde Takes Dick’s

Student Sports FAB 50 No. 1 Montverde Academy makes its statement for a second consecutive top-ranking and mythical national title with a 71-62 victory over No. 6 Oak Hill Academy in the Dick’s Nationals title game at Madison Square Garden. The top spot in next week’s Student Sports FAB 50 comes down to the Eagles or Mater Dei of California, which did not compete in the tournament.

Dick’s Nationals Semifinal Analysis

Oak Hill Academy and Montverde Academy advance to the Dick’s Nationals championship game on Saturday at Madison Square Madison (12 pm ET, ESPN) with come-from-behind semifinal victories. Huntington Prep gave defending champ Montverde Academy all it could handle and Findlay Prep couldn’t overcome Oak Hill’s length and depth with seven players.
